Recently, Webull overhauled desktop software. Bunda Webull desktop review we’ll take an in-depth look at how it works and how it fits its competitors.
Called Webull 4.0, this new software is capable of providing a high level of trading experience.
The broker has continued to improve its new platform, but some features are still lacking. Details here:
Download the program
The first thing you want is to download the desktop platform. To do this, just go to Webull.com and click on it DOWNLOAD link in the top menu.
You get three download icons for three operating systems:
- Linux (Ubuntu)
- Mac (OS 10.12 or later)
Overview and customization of the platform
Once installed, you will see most of the features of the software without logging in. You can view the platform as a guest. However, several tools require login.
What I really like about this platform is that the login is preserved. Once you log in, you do not have to sign in again. Actions above a certain level, such as placing an order, require a PIN.
The menu bar has a locked icon at the top of the screen. Click on it and you can open the software for trading.
Before making a real trade, I recommend practicing a bit using the platform’s paper trading mode. This function can be enabled by clicking the dollar icon in the left column of the icons.
The paint roller icon is where the software layouts are hidden. Just click on it to find pre-built layouts or start your own.
Vebull’s desktop platform has two color themes: light and dark. Press the gear icon to switch from one to the other. This appears at the bottom left of the screen.
In this setting menu, you can change many other standards, including:
- Colors of gains and losses
- Quick buttons
- Tickets order by default
- Audio notification of actions
A good place to start in the web desktop trading system is the widget icon. It is located at the top of the screen in the form of a 3D box. By clicking on it, all the main tools of the platform are identified.
There is a blue plus sign (+) next to each entry. Click on this blue icon and you will get the widget. For example, when I click on a record Best wins and losers, the platform has created a new window.
Other widgets include:
- Sound analysis
- Order book
- Warning messages
- IPO orders
The chart is included in the active profile. If you lose it for any reason, just go back to the widget menu. There is a diagram widget that can be added.
A small icon with three horizontal lines appears in the title of the window.
Click this and you can expand the graphics across the entire width of the monitor.
Once extended, the program will reveal all its features. These include:
- About 40 technical studies
- Some Fibonacci tools, including twelve drawing tools
- Price history up to 50 years
- Short time up to 1 minute
- Eight graphics styles
During testing, the feature I found most useful was right-clicking on the trade.
Exchange and ETF trading
A good place to start on the platform for ETFs and stock trading is a standard tracking list. It is located in the upper left of the vertical menu, represented by an asterisk.
Once included in the watch list, simply click anywhere in the series so you know the asset’s profile. Adding or deleting an entry from a list is easy. Just click on the star icon that appears in the security profile.
If you need multiple to-do lists, you can create as many as you want.
In the security profile you will find two order tickets, a regular version and an active sales ticket.
The standard order ticket offers the following order types:
While there is a dollar amount option in the quantity field, this is not a full fractional stock trade. Webull’s software converts this amount to the nearest number of shares.
Other sales tickets have predefined buttons (red for sale, green for purchase). Each button is a pre-filled order, such as selling 200 IBM shares at the best price.
Earlier versions of Vebull’s desktop platform failed to order cryptocurrencies. This bug has been fixed in a recent update. Make sure you are in the latest version which is now version 4.6.2.
To update to the latest version at any time, go to the settings menu (remember the gear extension icon). Then look at the bottom GENERAL INSTALLATIONS for the update link.
Crypto-currency profiles have less information than their security relatives. And no Active Trade ticket either. Normal tickets only have market and limited orders. This time it is possible to trade in shares.
Previous versions of the desktop system also did not have a proliferation of integrated options. This has also changed. During my investigation, I found 9 spreads. Examples:
Chains show several columns, including open interest and noticeable variability. The latest version of the software has Greek values, which is of great benefit to option traders.
Just click the contract to send the options order and the order form will be filled in automatically. The final screen shows a profit-loss diagram showing the maximum profit and loss figures.
One day trade
Webul’s new desktop app has several tools that short-term traders want to use.
A very useful feature in a regular sales ticket is the addition of parentheses. Just click stop-loss and profit to add orders that will take you out of trading.
Each entered character on the Webull platform provides margins and abbreviated information.
Push on the yellow mark with the dollar sign and the blue down arrow. The program creates drop-down windows with information about:
- Daily trading tool
- Night tool
- Short case
- Demand for service
- And much more
Other daily trading tools include:
- Sound analysis: This window displays the transaction entries for the market day.
- Order book: If you subscribe to it, you will find Level 2 information here. Up to 30 degrees is displayed.
- Price ladder: The order book and volume analysis can be combined into a single price ladder. The order can be sent by clicking on the price anywhere on the ladder.
- Day trading schedule: You can find it Prepared
Scanning stocks on Vebull’s new platform is still simple. It can only search for about 20 variables. They include:
- Market value
- Sof margin
- Analyst ratings
Search can be saved, which is a useful feature.
The stock profiles contain many details, including news articles, financial reports and press releases. In my Tesla profile, I found 35 sales recommendations, with an average hold.
Payments and claims
One of the best features of Webull 4.6 is that it is absolutely free to use. There is no minimum score either.
On the downside, Webull charges for level II quotes. But the monthly payment is only $ 1.99.
Real-time data on options can be obtained free of charge from OPRA. But Webull requires at least one Latin trade every 30 days to access it.
Other trading tools on Webull
Webull has a browser platform. During my research, I found several differences between the two. For example, the browser platform has trend channels in the drawing tools menu. There is no desktop platform.
And the Webull mobile app has a very good community forum. Users can connect with each other and discuss sales ideas. This social networking feature is not available in Webull 4.6.
Conclusion – Review the Webull desktop
For everyday traders on a budget, Webull 4.6 is hard to beat.
